A simple guide to a toddler’s day out in Crewe
9 September 2018
Whether you live in Crewe or fancy visiting a different part of the UK, you might be looking for family-friendly things to do in Cheshire that are suitable for really young children.
Thankfully, there’s plenty to keep all ages entertained, so here’s a guide to a toddler’s day out in Crewe.
Keep it simple with a trip to Queens Park
They say the best things in life are free and this is certainly true when it comes to one of Crewe’s most-loved destinations – Queens Park. With plenty of space for children to walk, run or toddle around you won’t have to worry about sitting them down or keeping them still, after all, youngsters have a whole lot of energy to burn. Here, you’ll also find a big lake with peddle boats (which could be good for older kids) as well as a children’s play area.
Top tip: Pack a picnic and make the most of the park’s picnic benches.
See the animals at Lakemore Farm Park
A trip to Lakemore Farm Park is one of the best things to do in Crewe. Home to an array of farmyard animals, it’s both educational and ideal for those on a lower budget. Children are given the chance to feed the resident animals and while the outdoor play area is super for big kids, the soft play area in the play barn caters to toddlers. There’s also a sandpit and little bikes helping youngsters to burn off steam.
Spend time at one of the many play centres
Play, play, play – that’s all toddlers do. The good news is, there are many soft play areas dotted throughout the area with Funsters Crewe being ideal for all ages including children and babies aged 0-3. Bright, colourful and exciting, this attraction offers an array of equipment including huge play bricks that cannot be swallowed by toddlers – but can be enjoyed. Good Time Charlies is another play area with a castle theme that’s ideal for your little princes and princesses.
Take a trip to Chester Zoo
If you don’t mind hopping in the car and driving a short distance outside of Crewe, Chester Zoo is also a much-loved attraction. With animal species from across the globe and plenty of room for children to stretch their legs, this is a great day out for families with toddlers and older kids that need slightly more simulation.
Enjoy a live show
Kids’ days out in Cheshire include the chance to experience a live show. Little Baby Bum is currently touring the UK, so if you’re looking for things to do in Cheshire with your toddler, why not have a kids’ day out and experience Little Baby Bum Live? Meet all your children’s favourite characters and sing along to childhood favourites such as Incy Wincy Spider and Wheels on the Bus.
There’s plenty to see and do in Crewe and the surrounding area so grab your camera and enjoy a day to remember.Back to Blog
